218 project grants in support of quick-action livability projects.

AARP Community Challenge flagship grants provide an opportunity for communities to apply for funding across several categories — and be creative about doing so.
The 2025 AARP Community Challenge accepted project applications that benefit residents, especially those age 50 and older, for:

[1] Creating vibrant public places that improve open spaces, parks and access to other amenities.

[2] Delivering a range of transportation and mobility options that increase connectivity, walkability, bikeability and access to public and private transit.

[3] Supporting housing options that increase the availability of accessible and affordable choices.

[4] Increasing digital connections and enhancing digital literacy skills.

[5] Supporting community resilience through investments that improve disaster management, preparedness and mitigation.
