Chicago - here we come.  Gonna fly out the 26th and return the 29th.  Basically, 2 full days in the windy city.  No flights or  hotel yet, but should have set up in next few hours.  We aren't picky.  Other than the pizza and Sears Tower - what else?  RT - this is your domain...Thoughts?

This might not be a good time for the California wine country trip they mention!

Surprised Philadelphia & Boston weren't on the list.

While working, we rarely were able to do a 'long weekend' --- too much to do at home. Now that we're retired, every day is the weekend.

Just think. The world was built by the lowest bidder.

Where to Visit for a Short Vacation

"What a difference a day makes," as the saying goes, and that goes doubly for travel. Weekend escapes are great, but add a mere 24 hours to an often rushed two-day trip, and suddenly it becomes a real vacation. More...

What's on your itineary for those long-weekend getaways?
