Flight Cancellations Expected to Continue as Across 40 U.S. Airports During Government Shutdown.

 

Here’s what you need to know about cancellations and intensifying safety concerns as the holiday travel season looms.

The first weekend after the Federal Aviation Administration’s mandated flight cuts saw thousands of flights canceled across the U.S. as airlines strove to meet the FAA’s initial 4 percent flight reduction goal.

Airlines canceled more than 1,500 flights on Saturday and more than 2,900 flights on Sunday. As of early Monday afternoon, nearly 1,830 flights have been canceled, according to the flight tracking website FlightAware. More than 5,300 flights are delayed on Monday, according to FlightAware.

I totally forgot about the "famous" Thanksgiving & Christmas flying as this old lady stays on the ground.

 

Geez, time for plan B for folks who usually fly during these holidays.
