AARP Eye Center
I I have waited for this since the Insulin price freeze. On June 1 inhalers by Astra Zeneca and Boehringer Ingelheim were capped at $35. GSK will do so in 2025. Problem is this price cap is not available to medicare recipients which are most of us seniors. The people who most need it as we are on fixed incomes. Seems to me this is discrimination. I have been round and round with my part D supplier and I get nowhere. Why can't this be capped as the insulin was? We need to stand up and fight this. AARP should be backing us. I will include a link to the article.
These Inhalers No Longer Cost More Than $35 Per Month (verywellhealth.com)
I hear you. It's so frustrating that seniors on fixed incomes aren't included in the price cap. My mom has COPD, and her inhalers cost a fortune each month. We've tried arguing with her Medicare Part D provider, but it's like hitting a brick wall. We need to push back and get AARP involved. This fight is worth it.
II would say the FIRST THING to do is call or email your congressman or senator. I contacted Sherrod Brown, Senator from Ohio. He was the driving force for the $35 dollar insulin cap. He is from Ohio. It was a holiday weekend so have not heard anything. I would say no matter where you live, contact your representative. We need action. I would like to invite AARP to get involved as well as newspapers. Working on it.
I I am working on it. Not real experienced in this but I can learn. Anyone else who would like to help or has ideas, please, let me know.
