Heart valve repair/replacement

Have any of you had issues with a heart valve that required repair or replacement?  I read one excellent blog here by an AARP member, which was helpful, but I would like to hear from others as well.  I am especially interested in your specific diagnosis, whether you had surgical repair or replacement of a valve, and what symptoms led to the diagnosis.  Here are mine:  Difficulty in drawing deep breaths; winded after not much exertion; a feeling of pressure, as if someone is sitting on my chest.  I have had a heart murmur for a long time, but cardiologist says the regurgitation has gone from moderate to a bit worse. I will appreciate comments.
