Has anyone had Bell Palsy and how are you progressing after 8 months ? Progress?

My Community,

Just touching bases with all of you. I realize that โ€œLifeโ€ comes at us in all kinds of ways. Yet, we โ€œBoomersโ€ do not give up. After losing my husband of 44 yrs,

Retiring as an Educator of 30 years, having a severe fall and ending up with

a Posterial Laminectomy with 7 1/2 hours of Surgery, escaped โ€œVirusโ€so far,

then Bells Palsy hits me. My first time of having this. No one in my Family

has had this health condition. Then I must look to my Faith, and my Family.

It is good to know that Friends are so supportive. I am looking to be 100 %

well soon. I follow all Doctors orders and still look forward to those Trips which

I missed after Retiring. I will be glad when Restrictions are lifted everywhere.

So, Community hang in there!  This too will pass. Keep a Smile on your face for

each day. Just be thankful to be alive! Thatโ€™s what I do.

Take Care Community! Share your experiences if you have had Bell Palsy.

Rachel, thanks for replying about my health issue. It means a lot when others respond even when they havenโ€™t had BP. It will be

3 years in July. It is

a difficult health issue. I am going through the Residuals and the Neurologist put me on meds that conflicted with BP. It really pays to read

the pamphlet with Prescription and go online to checkout what you are

about to take.  Bell Palsy is a horrible health condition because it hits one

all at once.Surprised me became I didnโ€™t have many health problems, not

even high blood pressure! This was a concern because I wasnโ€™t on any

prescribed or OTC meds. So, I hope that no one in the Community gets

Bell Palsy because your body and mind will never be the same.

Hey there, yes I had Bells Palsy about 2 years ago. I went to the doctor and he thought I had a stroke but after careful examination it was diagnosed as BP. One side of your face goes numb, eyelids droop and smiling is difficult. It feels pretty weird, kind of like novocain. It went away after about a month and no problems since. Hope this helps.

Mark, thanks for replying. Maybe I have a unique Bell Palsy case? It will be 3 years  in July and I am somewhat better. Glad to know

That you were better in a short time. Unfortunately, I am dealing with

the Residuals of BP. Mouth almost straight, eyes tearing even when

using drops recommended by my Optometrist.( Tired of wiping my

eyes), headache and lightheaded frequently, taste and smell goes and

comes, mouth so dry until it is unbelievable. I have gone to my Doctors

and followed their directions. However, I want to be back to normal soon.

Going to hang in here for my complete recovery.
