Not sure if this will help or not, but apparently there's a generic option:

Hi @richardtribune1994

The cost of Eliquis depends on the pharmacy you visit and whether you have insurance or not, or the number of tablets you need (the price of 2.5-milligram (mg) and 5-mg Eliquis tablets is the same) The cost of Eliquis is higher in the United States than in other countries....but there are resources out there if you look into it...I did....& here are some results.....

The average retail price for Eliquis is over $500 for 60 tablets. The list price for a 30-day supply of Eliquis is $4993. According to the manufacturer’s website, individuals with commercial insurance pay $45 per month for Eliquis, and 5 out of 10 people pay $15 per month or less. People who have a health insurance plan that includes coverage through Medicare are paying $46 per month on average, and 5 out of 10 people pay $30 or less

Eliquis is the most profitable drug on the market today. It is the most prescribed drug for seniors. As to cost, on a PPO Advantage Plan, it is a preferred drug that costs around $80 for 180 pills(a three month supply) to the consumer. Medicare pays well over $1300 their cost for that three month supply.

If you can afford it, buy stock in Bristol Myers Sqibb, the drug's manufacturer in Switzerland.

The dividends offset the cost of the drug.
