Re: COCHLEAR IMPLANTS

Hello, Lon1934

This procedure was mentioned to me twice recently. I wear an aid, get along ok with it. "Nothings

perfect" as they say ! About 70% of my hearing is gone, so an implant would work for me. I'm aware Medicare pays for it. I hesitate because i'm not sure if it would be any better than a hearing aid. My biggest problem is in understanding spoken words, not so much actually hearing them. Possibly I should talk to a specialist about this procedure to better understand it.

I hope you're getting used to the implants 'slowly but surely'.  Woman Happy

COCHLEAR IMPLANTS

I am a 84 year old trying to adjust to the Cochlear Implant that I had installed in December courtesy of the VA for a service connected PROFOUND HEARING LOSS. Many seniors are not aware that MEDICARE will pay for a COCHLEAR IMPLANT just like the VA  IF you can pass the RIGID HEARING LOSS TEST.

NOTE------Cochler Implants are ONLY for people that get NO BENEFIT from traditional hearing aids of any kind.
