Blackhead?

Five+ years ago at age 67 I developed a pus like blackhead which I squeezed out and left alone. It reappeared again only this time embedded under my skin. it was black and made a hole in my skin.  The location is on my waist. This means that wearing pants or skirts that close at the waist, always rubbed it. Last week, as I showered, a piece of the black head came loose and fell out. I have been tending to it ever since, squeezing out pus (no blood) and cleaning it.  I am presently left with a medium size hole in my skin. Should I leave it alone (meaning keeping it clean) or go to see a doctor?

I’d see a doctor, just to make sure it’s nothing serious. And even a benign, small skin infection might become a problem if you have something like diabetes. If it’s a boil or other type of cyst, a round of antibiotics should knock it out.
