Features to look for in new laptop

Does anyone have recommendations on features to look for in a new laptop? Now is a great time to take advantage of the back-to-school sales if you are looking for a new computer. I'm a mac user and probably will be forever, but there are a lot of options to choose from and it can get overwhelming!

Here's a handy list of 5 features to look for, but I'd also like to hear from my fellow community members! Leave a reply and share your recommendations and advice.

I am using hp pro book and here one feature that really pleases me is that the finger print sensor. I love when I have the ability to swipe a finger and open my windows. Even the lock works if you change the hard drive. It is so much secured that one cannot even bypass your system by changing the hdd or using a portable windows to access your hdd. I think we all should seek this feature in a laptop and should use it. There are many people who has this feature but do not use it. I feel really sad for these people.

Yeah, stay away from Windows 10. Purchase an off brand or refurbished (from a trustworthy company) computer with Windows 7 (that doesn't have the latest upgrades). The privacy and forced upgrades are just two of the countless issues with Windows 10.

Well, if you're a user who doesn't need the latest updates on your system for work purposes.

If still using Windows 7 (for business) the question is why it’s support from Windows is gone.

Making you susceptible to anything that might be fixed with a patch.

You may still get antivirus updates but, for how long?

Google “Windows 7, end of life.“

Only one service patch came out at the start of the pandemic, out of cycle. And despite having passed end of life stage.

No more support of fixed for issues with software, hardware, from M$. Be happy you got your 10 years worth of life from it. January 14,2020 it died by M$ standards.

If you bought it used might be time to look around for used Windows 10 computers, still under support.

Froze

And yes, after long days/nights, I'd still like to swing these hunks of glass , plastic and silicon against the nearest wall Come on retirement!
