Better, but still not the perfect solution. A person can still get too wrapped up in his message and proofreading before sending.

Attempts are being made by business, law enforcement, and public service announcements. Some people just don't get it.

I prefer texting to calling when possible. It’s a quick and easy way to send short communications back and forth between cell phones. Although it has its downfalls, according to statistics 9 people die every day as a result of texting while driving. Simple solution, Don't text and drive.

I do. I learned that one of my grandchildren had forgotten the sound of his ring tone. He only texted, yet both my children and grandchildren will answer if I call. I do that when I have too much to say and a text will not convey my thoughts. Quite respectful.

I e-mail, not text.  Texting is not as secure.

It takes me so long to text, I am better off sending a letter!

As a family, we text amongst ourselves. You can not always answer the phone and sometimes should not answer the phone, because of work, driving, etc. Of course, you have to check your messages and reply, but your conversation is in print. Sometimes, texting is less bothersome to others than a phone call is.
