If you have a Mac, go to System Preferences (under the Apple menu).  Then select Accessibility and check out the available settings.  It's intended to help those with vision problems.

 

I'm sure that Windoze has something comparable.

 

This is a lot less expensive than buying a monitor.

My husband refuses to wear reading glasses. As a result, his face is always so close to the monitor so he can read what's on the screen. I would appreciate any help on this... I've been thinking of buying a larger monitor for him ( he currently uses a 17 in LCD).
