It's an option if bought recently maybe, depending upon Amazon and/or China.

Don't know their policies, I had to do one reset following instructions for one person who got no joy from Amazon already.

How about another option - send it back & they give you one that doesn't have a Trojan .. or any other known problems!

Okay the promised link, read it -

There are instructions on removing the trojan, if you have one of the affected tablets, but, fair warning it's one of those if you mess up - you have  a brick kinda like DOS in the old days.

Read and make your own decision,I've tried to find a non-technical removal guide that's not happening.  Read the article, check your model names, processor,

There seem to be up to 30 brands with the trojan

Top names - NoName with All winner chips

SoftWinners,Advance, Rockchip Read the list of 10 of the 30.

Other detected behaviors:
The Trojan is also able to:

1. Change the boot animation of the device. (Users have to bear the annoyance of advertisements even when booting.)

2. Uninstall the applications in your device. (Mainly uninstals anti-virus apps and root tools which offer protection to your device)

3. Set your wallpaper to advertisements. (Every time you tap the home button, you will see the nasty advertisements)

4. Activate whatever applications on your device

5. Create pop-up advertisements

6. The DEMO screen in Red.

7. My presonal favorite it can/remove or disable your antivirus/malware/rootkit software silently and in the background.

I'm thinking that for the many people who are not quite as computer literate, I would explain that Trojan is not a birth control device.

Trojan is called "Cloudsota", origin maybe China.

I'm gonna put a link to article as soon as I can reach my laptop.

You can google or bing " cloudsota and no name Android tablets.

Who'd guess cheap Android devices can be a problem. SC magazine also released news on this today, byline Teri Robinson.a Google of her name should give similar results.
