When Caregivers Dislike "Loved Ones" They Are Caring For

Dear Hard-Working Family Caregivers,

Not all families are loving and perfect. Many are troubled or have had bad times. Many family relationships were always poor and become worse--not better--during the caregiving years. How can caregivers handle this and yet still hang in there to provide often necessary care? I came up with some ideas in my latest AARP.org column below. What are your thoughts?--Barry Jacobs, co-author of AARP Meditations for Caregivers
