How long does it take to get into assisted living?

About 1.5 millions American's live in some sort of assisted living facility. That number has risen 200% since the 1960's! Even during the pandemic, demand is high. Rooms, beds and spots are limited. There can be waiting lists, deposits, etc...

 

What has your experience been like trying to get your loved one into a nursing home or something alike?
