Caregivng for non family members

You cite many resources for family members. In contrast to that, many people live without the benefit of marriage - I live with my partner of over 8 yrs and can see the need for information for when one of us might need caregiving. I had experience with my late ex-partner, where I had no support from your services. My income was eventually exhausted which was exceedingly painful. Are we covered with your programs and services that help legally unattached people in similar situations, either straight or gay?
