California electric utilities to charge income based fixed charges.

PG&E monthly bills could jump for many customers due to new state law 

 

This is another tax which ever way one looks at it. Not sure if much can be done at this stage.

 

I hope AARP can take up the cause for the seniors who are on a fixed income and get an exemption for 65 and overs...

I think I head about this today - where some part of the utility is based on a flat rate BY INCOME LEVEL.

Those making less than (I think) $ 28,000 the flat rate was $ 15.00

Then it goes up by income level all the way to $85.00
