There is a free brochure with a wealth of information and references. It may answer some of your questions.  It's printed in California.  For those living in elsewhere, you may want to check the for brochures in your state.

Seniors and the Law Brochure funded with generous grand by CA Bar Foundation.  This is the booklet's order number  CB-1001-04   You can request this brochure through the Internet infor @ calbarboundation.org.
