Re: Diet and Memory --- again

People need to know that the chemical sweetener Aspertame (also goes by other names) has been found to be the cause of Alzheimer's-type symptoms in many people.  People who eat and drink a lot of "diet" drinks and foods that have the Aspertame sweetener in them (including many yogurts) need to stop ingestion of that product immediately. Scientists (including Mercola) have found that by stopping the usage of Aspertame products, many of these patients bounce back to their near-normal selves again after a short period of time.  If you have been using Aspertame sweetened products, stop using them NOW.

Here's a few links to verify:   (You're welcome).   ;-)

The question is this:  If Aspertame is so dangerous to our health, WHY is still being produced and sold in the US?

My answer is this.....(sad to say) there's WAY too much tax money that would be lost if they did......just like all those Tobacco products that are being sold!!   Isn't that SICKENING???    ;-(

Good information. Thanks for posting it.

We consume all the items mentioned, save the wine. We read that winemakers are producing wine with more sugar/alcohol content than ever (forget the exact number, but think it's around a 30% increase in alcohol content due to increased sugar content).

Anyway, we gave up alcohol (were never club goers or binge drinkers) in part because of the calories, but also in part because of the strong diebetes history in DH's family. Last year one of his sisters felt ill in late winter, was diagnosed with diabetes-related pancreatic cancer and was gone by summer. While DH is not diabetic, that inspired us to take another look at our diet and to make further diabetes-avoiding adjustments. That's when we reduced our alcohol consumption from maybe 5 drinks a month to 1 or 2. So you know, for us, alcohol holds as many risks as benefits. Smiley Sad
