United Healthcare
I need assistance . I have had AARP medigap/supplemental since I went on Medicare over 2 years ago. And my husband since June. I promptly pay United Healtcare when I get my SS check. That payment is for the following month and I have 2 separate payments for myself and my husband with the member id number on it as to avoid misappropriation.. However I keep getting bills stating I owe money. I have called approximately 10 times this year alone. Each time is a total waste of time as nothing gets resolved. I cannot understanding how United Healtcare has such sloppy accounting. The amount on my online account shows a different balance from what the customer service rep has on their computer and neither matches my personal accounting. I have the bank records to show my payments yet the last rep to call me last week stated that even though I have bank records it is my problem and I have to pay. How can AARP push us to use this type of company? Who can help me be it from AARP or someone higher up United HealthCare?

Hello @marielg, I can understand how frustrating that can be. When you get a moment, please send me a DM with your contact information. I can get you in touch with our Member Relations team. They act as liaison for AARP service providers. Which means they investigate complaints and attempt to resolve them on behalf of members. Here is an article that will show you how to activate Private messages: https://aarp.info/47hWcl7. I look forward to hearing from you soon. - Daniela R.

What I would do is: Find out director's name of the division of United Health Care that handles Medicare accounts. Write to the director, with all the pertinent facts. Include your contact information. Now, your problem will be handled from the top down, instead of from the bottom up. You will be dealing with people who can actually solve the problem.

Has this problem just manifested itself since your husband got his Medigap plan?
IF SO, you might want to read this thread where couples were having this problem with their payment being misappropriated between each otherโs accounts.

No this has been going on since I started on Medicare over 2 years ago. I kept calling and getting no resolve so I finally decided since I have my bank statements showing payments I was okay. Wrong, the women I spoke with this past week completely ignored me, just stating the customers service reps motto "I understand."

If it were me, I would write to them and send all your proof as to when you made each of the payments monthly starting from the date shown on your Medicare red, white and blue card.
I say, write them, because it is a real mess if they decide to cancel you for a lack of payment , so your proof needs to be documented to them in writing.
This is the address for those with AARP/UHC Medicare Supplemental plans and the address they give for billing problems.
- By mailSend correspondence to UnitedHealthcare at PO Box 9003, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006-9998.I assume that you are calling the number on the back of your AARP/UHC Supplemental plan. Do not call one of the many which they have for signing up for a new plan.I guess you donโt have a Medicare Plan broker because they are the best way to straighten out a problem with your plan - whatever that might be.Good Luck

If she is a local agent that sold this policy to you - stay on her - if she is just one of the ones online that sell for UHC - go the other route of writing to them and sending your proofs of payment.
Is your husbandโs account OK or could it be overpaid ?
Just get it fixed ASAP cause it is a real pain if they cancel you for non-payment of premiums.
