The Hartford bad customer policies - cannot re-sign up for a year

So I only had the Hartford for about a year and a half when I was in a fender bender and decided to sell rather than fix my car. Since I did not plan on buying a new one for a few months I cancelled my policy. I take partial responsibility for what happened next since I did not do my research. I was never told by any of the reps I spoke to that if I cancelled my policy and went uninsured for over 30 days I could not re-sign up with them, further I just got an email from their legal dept that it will be over a year before I cold re-sign up with them if I wanted to use them again, which is beyond ridiculous. Obviously I will not be using the Hartford again as my insurer with such ridiculous policies and bad customer service.

Thank you for your response but I found a company to use and have no desire to go back the Hartford.

This is unfortunately becoming like the penalties you are charged when you drop health insurance, being uninsured for one reason or another puts you in a "risk" category.

Eagerly awaiting my renewal bill from Hartford (not). ๐Ÿ˜•
