I recently rented from AVIS through an AARP email promotion.
The promotion indicated that I would get free 2nd driver. Avis denied this option at the rental counter. Said they did not care about the AARP promotion.
I denied the extra insurance CDW insurance, using my credit card to cover.
AVIS charged my credit card a temporary $5000 with a $29 service fee. This was not indicated when I booked the car and declined the collision damage waiver.
Is anyone else seeing this false and misleading promotions from AVIS?
Do all car rental companies do the same?
