AARP Expedia Travel Hotel Bookings are a rip off. NEVER USE THEM!

I booked a hotel room through Expedia for a June 11th one night stay and prepaid.  I then went online and changed the reservation to arrive on June 10th instead and was charged again for a one night stay.  When I arrived at the hotel there was no reservation for the 10th.  I was told there was still one for the 11th.  I asked to cancel that and was told that Expedia would need to cancel it. Soooo I had to pay the hotel directly for the one night stay on the 10th. So I ended up paying 3 times. Per the hotel Manager I could not cancel the incorrect/revised reservation for the 11th, that Expedia would have to call to do that. I call Expedia immediately and they cancelled the stay for the 11th.  After returning from my trip I called Expedia to get a refund for both the 10th and the 11th.  I was told they would review the information and get back to me within 72 hours. I did that drill at least 4 times and was never contacted.  I call again and finally got an agent that refunded me for 1 night but not 2.   Long story short I am still fighting for the 2nd refund and have spent hours on this including contesting the 2nd charge on my credit card and now Expedia is refusing to give me a refund and asking for more information.  NEVER EVER USE EXPEDIA TRAVEL THROUGH AARP.!!!  I am still filling working on paperwork regarding their refusal to give me a refund for 1 night.

So sorry that happened. I have used AARP's travel site to book hotels over a dozen time. The only time I had a problem was with a last minute booking (10 minutes before arriving) but it was worked out, can't remember the details. I have often gotten discounts that I can't find anywhere else including trying to book directly with the hotel. I'm not commenting to argue against your bad experience, just for others reading.

Put in a claim with your credit card. I always checked prices but most of the time if I went to motel website, they would give me the AARP discount. Sometime they had a better deal then using discount.
