AARP Customer Service

Is there a way to speak to a customer service rep for AARP, who can answer a general benefits question outside of UHC? Or is AARP soley in the business to support UHC only? I was just on the phone for 23 minutes (very unpleasant experience). Doesn't AARP advocate and adress senior's concerns?
