Re: Earning Rewards for Good Points for Activities
Hi,
I am still unable to connect my Fitbit as well.
I call every six months and they put in a ticket and nothing gets fixed.
On Fitbit, they say that the connection to AARP RfG is AARP RfG issue and revert you back to AARP RfG.
Appears that whoever set up the connection is no longer with the AARP RfG outsourced web support team and whoever is left can't figure out the problem.
I don't get the same error message as you, so what you have is new to me.
I did get someone's Fitbit to connect by making sure that the Fitbit email login and your AARP login are the same. Then I had both their AARP RfG and the Fitbit site open on my laptop. You have to call AARP to get your email updated. - Not the AARP RfG help desk.
I'll start calling the AARP RfG more often. Maybe they will have rotated staff at the outsourcing company and someone with Fitbit connectivity experience has been hired.
Did you hook up your Fitbit to Walgreens yet? That is also a good way to get discounts and encourage your steps!
Good Luck!
Karen

Re: Earning Rewards for Good Points for Activities
A thought or two for the OP @jr16374389 relative to points not always being awarded, even though the points badge shows available points.
a.) Check to see that you are logged it. Points badges will reflect full points* if you are not logged into your account. By logging in you will be shown your true status relative to that quiz or tool.
b.) You may be too close to your daily points earning limit. Sometimes a points earning activity will show points, let you complete the activity, and then play dead when it comes time to award the points to your account. Not always, but I had a couple quizzes do that to me this morning (it's the First of the month, when the points earning is goooood ) I will be able to earn those points tomorrow, however, so no worries.
I said sometimes. This is how it is supposed to work: (but apparently not all quizzes have been thus coded) There is a pop-up associated with the points badge that will let you know if a particular quiz would put you over the 5,000 point limit for the day. You can take the quiz, but you will not be awarded the points. Of course, you can return the next day to earn those particular points.
* The number of points available is different for members and non-members, but the full points available to you will be reflected within the points badge. (the badge will show 50% more points for AARP members versus non-members)
Hope this helps.

When you go to the section of Earning Points, there are quizzes that are supposedly offered to us once a year. I have gone back to these ones after two years and they apparently don't let you have points again on them. Misleading.
Hi @l886153m It is difficult to discern what is happening on your end without more information. Can you take and post screenshots?
I've never had points taken away. I've seen 0 Rewards points reflected on the AARP site, however each time I have clicked through to the Rewards for Good site and found all my points accounted for. Nor have I had to wait 2 years for the once-a-year points earning quizzes to renew. Indeed, some of them renewed twice for me this year. (no idea why, but it did happen) So I can't answer you from personal experience. If, however, you posted more details here, I bet we could figure it out. Alternatively, you could call the Rewards for Good customer service department; they should be able to help solve this riddle.
Best wishes.

Re: Earning Rewards for Good Points for Activities
Hi Jr,
If you have over 170k in points you probably understand about the ribbon etc.
When your points show zero, the system is probably going through some kind of upgrade. This seems to happen mostly during the weekday work hours.
Your points should reappear in a few hours. Any points that you may have earned during the upgrade should be captured, but since I am a skeptic, I avoid answering the quizzes when the 0 points are appearing. I will add this to my list of things to test, lol.
Lastly, I am so totally with you on that canned response email. Rather insulting after you spend the time to detail out an email to them. Shameful.

Re: Earning Rewards for Good Points for Activities
Hey @jr16374389, your images didn't post, so I don't know if you already know what I'm about to share. Sorry. Also, disclaimer: I am not with AARP and thus cannot answer the portion of your query about their less-than-awesome response to your email. I think, maybe, though, I can shed some light on the points badge.
If the points badge looks like this (has a number in the center) then those points are yours to claim. Should you take a quiz with points showing in the points badge, but it refuses to award them (which they say can take up to 24 hours) then by all means, call the Rewards for Good customer service line 1 888 842 2891. (Don't call AARP about Rewards for Good. They don't operate the rewards program, so basically all they can do is give you the run around. Go directly to the Rewards people.
By the way, that's an old image. The Tax-Aide Site Locator is disabled this time of year.
OK. If the points badge looks like this ('???' or 'what's this' in the middle) then that activity is not going to award you points no matter how many times you bang your head against the wall and whisper foreign sounding words ... uh, sorry, that's me ... no matter how many times you complete the activity.
That being said, you should get a pop-up like this whenever you open a Rewards activity that's not eligible for earning.
Hope this helps.

Sent 6/11:
Even though it says take this quiz and earn 50% more, I still get zero (0) points.
I completed several today
I could understand if I had taken the quiz previously, but I receive NO notice of such before or after I take part in this endeavor.
