How Horrid The Site Is

I cannot put into words how frustrating the rewards site is on AARP. Every single day, the loading time, the bounce back so you click the wrong thing, the ¨we are experiencing delays right now¨. I cannot get my head around how they are PAYING someone to run this. It is frustrating because I LIKE the stuff, the weekly info quizzed, the games, the sweeps and so forth - I like it ALL. Most days I know the drill go here go there, wait a minute whatever today it's sending me over the edge.

Today I can't redeem a thing "we're experiencing a delay" - but I also can't earn points everything I do it says experiencing delays go do a redemption which is beyond comical because yeah that's not working either. If the whole site is NOT WORKING I'd prefer it just be shut down so I"m not wasting my time. I've spent a half hour of my morning bouncing back and forth THINKING it's the NORMAL every day all day aggravations with how obnoxious the site is I just can't believe how horrible this is. The rewards thing is 100% going to be the thing that takes me OUT of AARP because I'm so tired of wasting my time on this and being frustrated. I wish they would actually fix it the DASHBOARD was USELESS a complete waste of time and I think it's actually worse. I hope they consider doing something major sometime soon.

I've had the SAME experiences for MONTHS now!  If I were a web developer or any I.T. type at AARP, acting in this manner with my corporation, I would be FIRED immediately.  This is NOT how someone this size should be operating a website.  Getting my daily points for rewards or trying to redeem points for rewards is a joke!  I recently chatted with some "droid" of a person that I demanded that they file a report/complaint about this just last week, (12/4/2024), & get this inconsistency resolved!  They recently hiked their annual enrollment costs up as well, so maybe they can get off the closet of modems & servers running Windows NT 3.5.1 & join the REAL world.  God help us if their website is cloud based.  I would say stay AWAY from their provider!

Also, as a severance package, did you give the outgoing executive, I believe your CEO the database servers & IIS servers?  It seems once that news was announced, your website went to crap.  Hire someone competent & reliable to resolve these issues & for the new incoming executive, please put the customers FIRST, not your wallet!

I understand your frustration with AARP Rewards being down @KellytheBelly. We have put AARP Rewards under maintenance to fix some lingering issues and hope to have it restored later today. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Your maintenance windows are NOT scheduled, aside from 1 or 2 in the last few months.  It's not unusual for the entire month of December 2024 so far to have daily, multiple outages.  Please get your act together, or you can hire me at $200 an hour to build you a 21st century website with a stable backend.

So it was my original post - but AARP cares only responded to someone who responded on my post which is interesting, but anyway....

Here we are how many days later and the site is crazy annoying STILL how many months will be "under maintenance" before it ever works again even if it's as crappy as it was before.

This "dashboard" update took something that was already shoddy and made it atrocious so disappointing and I hope AARP realizes how many people won't be renewing because of the level of frustration with this.

& let me just add the response given to someone else indicates a fix later that day that was three days ago and there's been nothing but I standard message on the site it should just be taken down at this point

Not up for me......

Not for me.  At Earns, I just get the circle going round and round and round.  At Redeem, I just get Try Later.  This is an even greater waste of time than usual.

But they make sure the ads will properly load because it is all about the money for them. They make money off of memberships and then we have to watch continuous ads so they can make money off of those also, but we're unable to load games or rewards. This is why I've turned off auto renew on my membership.

I'm with you Cynthia I think that's the point I got to this morning I actually looked to see when my auto renew date was because it's just gotten worse not better and I've kind of reached that crossroads where it's better to spend my time on something else. I also never win anything so I don't know what I"m doing I'm an idiot for staying - but at the moment my auto renew deal isn't up until 2026 and so here I am for another freaking year.

Funny story, I just renewed for another 2 years (auto-renew), and then the site went down. Glutton for punishment?  (๑ →ܫ←)
