I too find watching Classic Foreign as well as Classic American Films a relaxing and comforting alternative to worrying about these stressful times.

If I had to pick just one movie, then Cinema Paradiso is my all time favorite. The first time I saw it in the theater in NYC, the entire audience was simply enraptured. When I rewatch it, I consider it as a gift to myself.

I have not seen The Lives of Others, and will try to do so after reading

your list. Thank you for sharing this!

     I have also enjoyed:

         Metropolis

         Fanny and Alexander

         Pan’s Labyrinth

  ~ Lisa 📕 🎦🌈

THANK YOU!

I never tire of watching Cinema Paradiso. And, even though there are many classical concertos I love, I am embarrassed to admit how often I listen to the beautiful emotionally arousing score for Cinema Paradiso, written by Ennio Morricone. But the real tearjerker for me, is the ending when adult Toto watched the movie reel of compiled cut scenes of kisses; the loving gift from Alfredo.
