Be weather aware for any alerts in your areas!! This is the time of year for much of the country to stay alert to weather changes that affect your areas, or where you might be heading to, or for any loved ones & friends....especially those who are more vulnerable to risks. Today there are many parts of the country that are most at risk. A friend in Nashville, where I visits often, is quite worried & wanted me to stay in touch, or be able to respond to her calls. The whole Mid-state areas of Kentucky & Tennessee are on high alert.

Many confirmed tornadoes have already touched down with more dangerous, long track & possibly widespread severe outbreaks are possible

All storm modes are in effect!

I'm on day 3 of a storm-caused power outtage. Guess much of my freezer and refrigerator items will be tossed. I wish houses were built with a battery backup!

I bought several bags of tea candles from Walmart like $5 for 100...used them in votives & other holders....fairly safe that way...they last for 4 hours or so...enough light to see around until sun up....put enough of them together & they can be at least a little heat source....or add more (but being careful of course) enough to heat up food like soup...maybe a few of your frig items,...before tossing....

Also...I used coolers & insulated bags & bought ice bags from store...can extend frozen items for a short while...enough time to cook them ASAP... but also a bunch of frozen items together...can extend fridge items placed with them too...

Just a few hints...hope something helps!

Take care! ~Allen

Had a tornado come within 2 miles of me late last August. Sirens went off until the power went off.

Wasn't aware it was a tornado until the next day, just a few storms in the area then an overnight power outage which lasted 18 hours.
