why didn’t AARP lobby against this program before the 2027 sunset. Why do we pay dues for your lobbying arm when the corrupt administration pulls stunts like this. Be bold ! Denounce MAHA! Since when is Trump worried about giving money to drug companies! He continues to do this with corrupt Advantage plans.

What would they be lobbying for? a 1-year reprieve for a few bucks when we got so much more from the Redesign of part D-

Maybe you, like me, didn’t get any direct benefits from the redesign or at least not yet, guess any thing could change but I do not mind paying a bit more for those who need higher priced meds and we can all help them out with this redesign.

You do know that this was all done with out too much more money being piled into the program - the insurers and the drug manufactures - too up most of the cost - Medicare Part D only had a 10% added.

KFF.org 04/20/2023 - Changes to Medicare Part D in 2024 and 2025 Under the Inflation Reduction Act and How Enrollees Will Benefit

Boy how soon we forget -

You're trusting Oz and his "maybe a $10 increase" press release. When the ANOC letter arrives in September if past is prologue it will more likely be a 35% or 40% increase or some plans may just pull out of the state altogether. In my zip there is one other $29 plan (for 2026) and the next jumps to $96/month. They are trying to push us into MA one step at a time. I am resisting as long as I can, the thought of needing approval from AI for a treatment makes me nauseous.

Until those cost decrease in the marketplace - I foresee that being sooner rather than later. A sure sign of how competition works.

If it gets to where insurers are not playing ball any longer especially in certain areas we will have to create a different plan or go back to the old one because they are apart of the system as it stands today.

Nice thing about Prescription drug coverage - you have to have a plan to help out the program as a whole but you don’t actually have to use it if you can find your meds at some cheaper, acceptable place.

If we adopt this plan we can get rid of Medicare Advantage plans altogether

US Senate - Finance - June 2026 - MEDICARE COST CAP ACT

Then the medica;/drug coverage could be all in one place with a Medicare Cost Cap probably for each -

.
