HOW FAR AWAY ARE WE FROM TERMINATOR 2: JUDGEMENT DAY?

My attention was drawn to a court this weekend that allowed an artificial intelligence rendering to "testify" during the phase of the proceeding where family members attest to how the crime affected their family.

The odd subject matter is what caught my eye.

The person attesting to how the killing affected the family and their thoughts about forgiveness came from the DEAD PERSON THEMSELF as a created A.I. rendering of the dead person.

The court allowed it.

This worries me.

What is to keep courts allowing renderings of dead bodies, renderings of mangled children, renderings of decedents with bullet holes visible...... A.I. can create anything.

In this particular case, the defendant got sentenced for more years than the prosecution was asking for. Who is to say that the A.I. talking directly to the judge didn't influence his thinking on sentencing?

This is a "advancement" that needs to be "nipped in the bud" and strictly "controlled".

We have just seen the beginning of how it can be used.

(2) Lol, this may be "off topic", apologies IF I am.

The Walmart I and OTHER "old" folks shop at, feel a NEED to have their HUGE robot "ride" around the store "supposedly" cleaning the floor.

My CONCERNS here:

(a) Robot has "trapped" me and I ran leaving my Shopping Cart behind. Stupid me ASKED a passing Walmart Employee WHY is this being done DURING SHOPPING HOURS???? Store CLOSES at 11pm = NOT open all the time.

(2) Robot "leaks" and leaves WATER on floor.

*** I HOPE no one gets run over (including babies, kids, service dogs) or someone falls. Who knows, these may have already happened and NO media coverage.

Well we have always had crime scene photos and they are as bad as it gets.

Did the AI project a image of the person or was it a recording of the persons voice? Doesn't really matter, I don't see how it would be allowed in any part of the court.

Speaking of Walmart, my closest Walmart is a SUPER WALMART. It has 13-14 registers, two huge self checkout areas, etc. etc. etc.

The registers are never tended, except for one or two....for people, like me. that uses a scooter to get around the store. I could use the self checkout but I REFUSE to work for Walmart FOR FREE checking out my own goods.

So, I quit going to Walmart.

Don't worry about off topic, @SummerOnTheWay1, I wasn't sure whether to put this under FAMILY or TECHNOLOGY or ENTERTAINMENT.

The image was of the deceased speaking in his own voice. It was created using A.I. by the family of the deceased. Not only was it creepy, it resulted in a harsher sentence being levied by the judge.

You can google it as it was on almost every news channel in existence, as it was the first of its' kind.

I saw Elon Musk answer questions today in Saudi Arabia regarding robots. While he said that robots, in his vision, would change the world for the better....he also acknowledged that robots "could" have an end result of creating a "James Cameron" world....ie. Terminators that bring an end to humankind.
