      <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Our AARP Forum is continuously bombarded with folks who are newly registered with postings seemingly with 'useful information' but with hyperlinks to possible 'frauds/ scams/ spams or possible malware sites.'&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;&lt;FONT color="#FF00FF"&gt;Please&lt;/FONT&gt; '&lt;FONT color="#FF0000"&gt;do not click onto any links&lt;/FONT&gt;' &lt;/STRONG&gt;of any infomercial &lt;STRONG&gt;with a link&lt;/STRONG&gt; to a "solution, the cure" = possible fraud or to a malware site.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;-----------------------------------------------------------&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&lt;EM&gt;----&amp;nbsp;&lt;FONT color="#FF0000"&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;sign of scams&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt; -&amp;nbsp; they may talk about some medical information in the "Housing or Game Talk or Destinations' AARP forums = not in the proper forum = content is 'wrong' for forum heading.&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&lt;EM&gt;And they are newly registered with a 'neat'&amp;nbsp; copy and paste but with a "&lt;STRONG&gt;link available&lt;/STRONG&gt; = the cure, the solution, the treatment."&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&lt;EM&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; They may talk about some other common problems and issues and lay out a nice informative treatment or solution.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&lt;EM&gt;--- crypto recovery scams - I've seen twice or more here&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&lt;EM&gt;---- &lt;STRONG&gt;Be wary&lt;/STRONG&gt; of posts talking about '&lt;FONT color="#008000"&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;cannabis&lt;/STRONG&gt;'&lt;/FONT&gt; with an all too convenient &lt;STRONG&gt;link available&lt;/STRONG&gt; - may lead to frauds and/ or they "just want your money by selling their goods and services"&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&lt;EM&gt;---- &lt;STRONG&gt;Be wary&lt;/STRONG&gt; of posts talking about '&lt;FONT color="#0000FF"&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Medicare / &lt;FONT color="#000000"&gt;Insurance&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;'&amp;nbsp; with long seemingly helpful information with a hyper link "&amp;nbsp;&lt;FONT color="#FF6600"&gt;to their website "&amp;nbsp; - &lt;FONT color="#000000"&gt;they are a private company who have not been vetted/ verified by AARP or other entities. Will they offer free advice/ low cost fee?&amp;nbsp;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&lt;EM&gt;&lt;FONT color="#FF6600"&gt;&lt;FONT color="#000000"&gt;&lt;span class="lia-unicode-emoji" title=":face_with_rolling_eyes:"&gt;🙄&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;FONT color="#FF6600"&gt;&lt;FONT color="#000000"&gt;&lt;FONT color="#993300"&gt;&amp;nbsp; Will you give them your name address, telephone, birth date and SS number? for further assistance/ consultation from them???&lt;/FONT&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&lt;EM&gt;&lt;FONT color="#FF6600"&gt;&lt;FONT color="#000000"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;span class="lia-unicode-emoji" title=":face_with_rolling_eyes:"&gt;🙄&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;FONT color="#FF6600"&gt;&lt;FONT color="#000000"&gt;&lt;FONT color="#800080"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;STRONG&gt;This still an advertisement in AARP Forum and should not allowed here.&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&lt;EM&gt;-----check &lt;STRONG&gt;out their profile&lt;/STRONG&gt; if newly registered and if they 'copy and paste' a&amp;nbsp; tale and "they have the answer, the cure , the solution" -&amp;nbsp;&lt;STRONG&gt;If&lt;/STRONG&gt; only you click on their link??&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&lt;EM&gt;---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&lt;EM&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;&lt;FONT size="4" color="#FF6600"&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Additionally&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&lt;EM&gt;Be wary of newly registered users "&lt;FONT color="#0000FF"&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;advertising&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;" any good or services.&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;&lt;FONT color="#800080"&gt;&lt;EM&gt;Possible fraud at the end -&amp;nbsp;&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;EM&gt;gathering info on you personally - invading your privacy.&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&lt;EM&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; &lt;STRONG&gt;It's against AARP Forum policy to 'sell goods and services' here; blatant 'advertising'.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&lt;EM&gt;&lt;span class="lia-unicode-emoji" title=":angry_face:"&gt;😠&lt;/span&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;STRONG&gt;The AARP &lt;FONT color="#0000FF"&gt;Moderators&lt;/FONT&gt; need to be more&lt;/STRONG&gt; '&lt;STRONG&gt;&lt;FONT color="#FF0000"&gt;proactive&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/STRONG&gt;' &lt;STRONG&gt;in removing these posts - Scammers/ Spammers/ Fraudsters&lt;/STRONG&gt;; this AARP&amp;nbsp; Forum is not appropriate for 'advertising of goods and services - medical and otherwise.'&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Good message! Maybe AARP should limit posting access to people that have or have had an active subscription. Having to pay a few dollars will probably eliminate most of the spam.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
