MARATHON 10¢ OFF PER GALLON (100 GALLONS) redeemed 06/13/2023 has expired date of 10/31/2021

Today I redeemed 20,000 points for a $10 Marathon 10 cents off per gallon (100 gallons) reward only to find that once I tried to print the digital reward it states "Marathon 10¢ off per gallon (100 gallons) promotional code expires on 10/31/2021." How does this work? If it's a mistake and the reward is no longer valid I'd like to get my points back!

Not sure how one person can state this expires at the end of the year, and yours is expired? I did have an issue with the Lionel Train Coupon being expired in my email redemption confirmation, and @AARPJanelleM told me that the date would be changed, to disregard, and that is was still usable. In your case, this may also be true.

If it turns out that the date is wrong and you are told to just disregard it, you are still faced with finding a service station that will accept the code. I never found one in my area and we have quite a few Marathons in MS.

Is it possible you can make the outcome public? There may be others that redeemed this same gift code, and may have the same expiry date, yet, @KennethG683811 stated it expired at the end of the year. Would be nice to include others as well. Thanks!

In December 2020, I "won" the Marathon gas as an Instant Win with an expiration date of 10/31/2021. Because there are no Marathon gas stations in my city, I searched other cities that had stations. I found that most Marathon gas stations are individually franchised, and it is up to the discretion of the franchised owner to accept the 10 cents off per gallon discount. The 2 stations I contacted would not accept the discount. I was unable to take advantage of the gas discount and let it expire.

There you go, thanks @JoLo49 for your comment. Same thing that happened to me, only I have at least a half dozen stations within 45 miles of me and the ones that refused to honor the offer the others claimed to know nothing about it. ARRRGHH !! 😡

All of these dirty little maneuvers can be laid at HelloWorld's front door

They have been pulling these little tricks as far back as Rewards for Good without any oversight or supervision from AARP.org

I have not heard back at all yet from AARP as @AARPJanelleM

mentioned, 2 business days have gone by, let's see if I hear by the 5th business day. At this point from all the feedback received I just want my points back since I'm not sure I will find a participating Marathon gas station!!

@AARPJanelleM I got an email this afternoon saying that since the Marathon code expired, I will be getting my 20,000 points back, plus an extra 1,000 points for my trouble, which was a nice gesture. BUT will this still be charged against my three redemptions for this month, or will I also get that back? Thank you for addressing this
