1. Reward points and gifts have significantly devalued over the years.

2. Other websites offer better than 10% discounts on gift cards - like Uber, Wayfair, etc... These "exclusive" premium deals you are getting here are not that special.

3. AARP allows non-paying members to play instant-win and enter sweepstakes, diluting the program's value.

4. Being called a "cheater."

For about 2-3 months, I could not redeem my points. I thought it was a "glitch," but after being in the dark for months, I was emailed the reason why for my account froze:

In accordance with our terms and conditions, any points acquired through fraudulent means or gaming tactics violate the rules of the program. This includes but is not limited to:

Actions that circumvent meaningful engagement with program content.

Behaviors that exploit program features to earn points in a manner inconsistent with intended use.

Any methods used to manipulate point accrual or activity tracking.

The purpose of Rewards is to reward our users for learning.

LOL!

Using gaming tactics is hilarious when you consider they use a slot machine animation for some instant win games!

I am labeled a cheater. I earn my points too fast by completing the same quizzes, which AARP allows you to earn on the same quizzes you completed months ago because it resets monthly! There is a simple solution to close this loophole: Once a member completes a quiz or watches a video, don't allow the member to re-earn points on the same activity already completed!

After restoring my account, I quickly redeemed my points on several sweepstakes that I did not win, lol.

I have about 1,000 points left, which I will use on the instant-win games. At this point, I don't care if my account is frozen again. All this over $5-10 gift cards? Please.

The rewards program is outdated, antiquated, and non-user-friendly. A lot of these videos and quizzes are almost 10 years old! Why not try updating or improving the content library?

I will not renew my membership for a program that calls me a cheater. No, thank you. I expect this post to be taken down. I thank anyone who reads this.

For anyone still an AAP member, this rewards program is NOT what you deserve! It's terrible. I did not mention the long wait times for redeeming or purchasing gift cards or the lack of customer service!

This program could be AMAZING, but it's a joke now. I am out! Tell me why I should renew. I'd rather put that money in a slot machine or even a meme coin than continue dealing with this terrible rewards program!

GOOD LUCK!
