Your discussion title is accusing AARP of fraud.

I was trying to figure out how AARP is involved in fraud with this situation.

Anyway, thanks for responding.

I have been getting phone calls everyday from a "Brian" at the "Tax Relief Center" asking to help with my unpaid taxes.

1. I DONT HAVE ANY UNPAID BILLS OR TAXES!!

2. WHY is AARP supporting this FRAUDULENT company??.

3. The company picks up a name from their (minimal) debt research and without doing any due diligence in researching a debt they just start calling everyone with the same name. (Their research is by eliminating people who complain but still have to put up with their calls).

4. These companies should have to prove/document they have the right person before calling (especially should NOT call every day to weeks).

5. If the company believes they have a legitimate case .....DO IT BY MAIL NOT PHONE CALLS!!!

6. I AM ON THE DO NOT CALL LIST.

7. I should NOT HAVE TO JUSTIFY TO THE COMPANY THAT THEY HAVE THE WRONG PERSON.....note. the problem with justifying to the company is that you can end up giving personal information and the is UNACCEPTABLE. AND I DON'T TRUST COMPANIES LIKE THIS TO HANDLE MY PERSONAL INFORMATION. Especially when they have demonstrated thru their calling that they haven't done proper research and HAVE NO ETHICS (calling everyday for two weeks....REALLY???)

7. AAARP needs to push at stopping companies like this .... AND FIRST PLACE TO START IS TO STOP SUPPORTING THEM. This company lists AARP as supporting them!

I don't know what AARP has to do with it, but we've been receiving those same exact calls every day for the past several weeks. In fact, we received three of these calls today alone—so far. They always call from a different number with a 315 area code, all in upstate New York. It's useless to block the number since it always changes.
