Tricks to successfully completing Mahjongg Solitaire

There are few tips that can help you solve a puzzle and avoid ending up in unsolvable situation:

The general strategy is to keep removing matching tiles so that each removal opens up more possibilities for future tile matching. If you have a pair that does not open anything, leave it until you need it.
Don't forget that you should open up new tiles with every matched pair. Choosing obvious pairs every time, such as those from the top levels, will often result in a loss by leaving more tiles uncovered.
In certain situations, obtaining matching tiles can be either impossible or highly unlikely. The key is to avoid getting into positions where this is likely to happen. Concentrate on matching tiles on horizontal lines, as these are usually more difficult to remove.
When you have 3 or more identical tiles free and matchable, match the pair that will free additional tiles. Matching the wrong pair can lead to unsolvable situations later.
It is imperative to react fast. Fast reaction means making the correct decision given the current situation as the result of previous decisions. You will be required to imagine your movements several steps ahead. The game might look playable now, but if you don’t look ahead and you make the wrong move, then the game could end with no solutions.
Some of the Mahjong characters on the tiles look quite similar, especially when you must quickly scan many tiles over and over. It is important to be able to distinguish all the tiles correctly and memorize where you last saw a certain piece.

All these tips may look intimidating the first time you play Mahjong solitaire, but don’t worry! This game actually is pretty easy to learn, but difficult to master. You will learn everything eventually, leading to less and less unsolvable situations after each successful game.

The score for the Daily Sudoku is by time, I think, and should also be by level of difficulty and whether you have used any helps. But I can’t see an obvious pattern. My daily top score, and the top ten scores starts over each day at eleven (midnight eastern) but the puzzle for the day is available one hour later at local midnight! Other games don’t work like that.

if I play again the same puzzle, I have to reset it, and my score is zero. This sometimes wipes out my daily high score. Blah! If you missed a day you can choose a puzzle for an earlier day and the score will count for today’s daily high score.

My tip is to use Menu> place notes>whole puzzle, then look for squares with only one candidate. If I see a square with no candidate, I use Undo since I have made a mistake. When I can’t find a move to make, I choose one and go from there until I see there’s an error, or often I can get all the way to the end. If an error, back up with undo to the point of my guess, and choose the other number for that square. Doing the Sudoku this way is fast but is a totally different game than on paper, or placing the candidates myself in the online version.

The twist to Mahjonngg Dark Dimensions is that all the symbols on the cubes are ancient runes representing demons from the Geriatricon, or "Ancient Book of the Senior Discount."

If you click them in just the right order, it will summon the Dark Lord himself, ol' Beelzewhosis, who will grant you the Early Bird Special at Denny's well past the posted end time.*

Nope, that's not right at all. My mistake.

Dark Dimensions has, I think, nine levels and time bonuses on each level. The original version has only three levels and no time bonuses.

The scoring formula should be written as percentage completed without errors * (difficulty level + remaining score) which yields a maximum score of 112,000 if you could somehow complete the puzzle in 0 seconds. I have gotten in the mid 80,000s but that seems to be my limit. To get 100,000 exactly, you would have to complete the expert puzzle in 2 minutes. That would give a time bonus of 600 (720-120) so you would get 100*(400+600) which is 100,000. It is possible to "cheat" at Daily Sudoku by completing the puzzle correctly in Chrome's Incognito mode without logging into the AARP website, then making note of all of the numbers. You can then exit out of Chrome, come back in, log into AARP and then redo the same puzzle and quickly re-enter all the correct numbers. To me, that is cheating but I'm sure some people do it. The normal Sudoku puzzle gives you a new puzzle every time so this cheating method won't work for that.

Thanks for your question, ! Sudoku scoring includes two bonus multipliers that vary by level, one for difficulty and one for time. Final score is calculated with the percentage of puzzle completed without errors (or help) multiplied by difficulty bonus + time bonus.

Difficulty bonus is:

Easy = 100;
Medium = 200;
Hard = 300;
Expert = 400

Time bonus is your time spent solving subtracted from:

Easy = 180 seconds;
Medium = 360 seconds;
Hard = 540 seconds;
Expert = 720 seconds

If your time spent is more than the time bonus amount, the time bonus does not apply (i.e., you are not penalized with a negative number as a multiplier).

I wonder the same thing. I play the expert level, complete the puzzle at 100% with no errors and it's always 40K. I don't understand how to score more than that.

You can look over the puzzle to try and find it or you can open the menu at the top of the puzzle and toggle on the “Show errors” option. This will show your errors in red. Once the puzzle is 100% correct, the “Submit Score” button will be visible. This is true for other crosswords on AARP Games, too. Submitting your score will ensure that you earn your AARP Rewards points for completing the puzzle(s), if you are a Rewards participant. You can earn points on Daily Crossword, Mini Crossword, and Let’s Crossword for members only.

Tips for 9 Ball Pool Game

Hit and/or sink as many balls as possible in each shot.
Don't play it as you would regular 9 ball, sinking the 9 early hurts your score.
You have to play all 5 games to get a score over 100, and that does mean risk, and deliberately losing some games at the end, in order to play all 5 games in the series. For example, just pocket the cue ball when only the 9 is left.
Hit hard for many shots, unless you are in danger of losing the entire 5-game series *(not just that particular one.) You get a higher score if 5 balls are hit, even if you only sink one ball. Also, of course you can also get lucky and sink more that way.
If you don't sink at least two balls on the first shot of the first game, start over.
I like to aim at the one and 4, be careful not to hit the 2 in your opening shot. Line up from the side, on the line to do this.
Using English on the cue ball is very important in this game for your leave and multiple balls sinking in one shot. If you aren't used to it, just practice during bad games.
The computer is very good at long soft shots, and also rail shots, try not to leave the computer those shots. It's not as good at bank shots or with balls that have nearly sunk and are almost in the hole.
Go ahead and foul, it's better to sink a ball that isn't the ball you are supposed to hit than not. Only, of course, if you have NO shot on the correct ball, you get the same score anyway for pocketing any ball, you just won't get the next shot and the computer will have the ball in hand.

Achieving high scores on Trizzle

It's definitely possible to get high scores on Trizzle! When you make a set of the three largest nesting dolls, try to make it near the center of the board--and it's worth an extra move or two for positioning. There will be more dolls around the one that forms from that set, which means when that doll spins and makes the surrounding dolls larger, there will be more dolls getting larger--thus you’ll score more points!

Here are some tips for 10x10 offered by @smfg:

Since this game is not timed, try out a block in several locations before placing it.
Clear as many lines as you can in each turn, before placing anything else. This will open up spaces, boost your score, and give you options.
Always try to leave open space for a 4-square and a 9-square, just in case.
Give yourself a hug when you top your previous high score!

It’s a great way to rack up your score so move quickly and try for those Speed Matches!

Chaining in Mahjongg Solitaire is a way to boost your score. The score for each match is the suit points multiplied by the number of tiles remaining on the board. Each successive match of the same suit adds a chain multiplier. The value of each suits, from smallest to largest are: Wan, Circle, Bamboo, Wind, Dragon, Flower, and Season, so creating two Season matches in succession will give you the largest chain multiplier. Chaining is challenging but it can really boost your score if you are able to use it.

Reply for “ask”: The bonus bomb helps you delete the Word Wipe letters/alphabets. You simply drag the bomb(s) over the alphabets/letters to delete some of the letters, thereby increasing your chance of clearing all of the letters or words.

I play the hard game of Forty Thieves Solitaire exclusively now. I started with the easy, finally won a game, then moved to the hard level. At first, I thought it was impossible to win, so keep at it! Here are a few suggestions to try:

To win the game, you want to avoid making "every possible move." Though there will be available moves on the board, you want the cards you deal to dictate the moves. That may not make sense now, but it will the more you play

There are boards I start with that will cause me to immediately start a new game. For example: "several" aces at the top of the board (especially when you get 2 aces of the same suit at the top), lots of high cards at the bottom, etc. Again, once you play some more, you will develop a strategy.

Most hard level games you win will have several dealt cards in the pile and clear with big runs. Don't get discouraged when you deal several cards you can’t play. Work towards clearing a row to allow opportunities to create runs.

In Missile Command, click (or tap on mobile) to place the cross hair where you want your bombs to explode. A good strategy is to place them just below the missile’s path. That way you don’t risk missing the missile or having it fly right by, so you’ll have good success at neutralizing them. Think of it like hockey when you always want to “skate to where the puck is going.”

StephenL855985 is a Lumeno player who regularly scores between 2-3 million and suggests these strategies for boosting your score:

Play to leave as many boosts and arrows on the board as possible after each move regardless if it produces the highest score reduction. You must maintain the ability to have good moves for the next turn so don't wipe out the board even if you can.
Continue to choose long ball chains over point reduction moves because it will produce more boosts and flowers for future moves.
Look at the board carefully when eliminating balls to make sure your next move is set up for a good play.
Always try to choose at least four ball chains at a minimum because this guarantees at least one additional flower or boost next move.
You can keep your finger on the mouse to see the point reduction before releasing the play and then back up and try another combination, so that way you can try multiple moves before deciding which one will produce the most advantageous score.
After a chain of seven balls you get two additional boosts or arrows and after a chain of 17 you get an additional 4 or 5 per move.

Actually, the black bubbles don’t pop in Bubble Shooter. They are just there to make the game more difficult. You have to pop whichever bubbles are supporting the black ones, then they will drop and clear off the board.
