I wasn't born with a silver spoon, but quite the contrary. Yet, I spent countless hours over several decades helping families down on their luck to get on their feet, as well as giving back to the community. Most of my life, I also personality supported social justice and healthcare causes. I joined AARP as soon as I qualified, and now I am very glad I did because I realized that the power of their group advocacy far exceeds the cumulative effect we can achieve on our own.
