I noticed your list is not ver diverse , i have read about 4-5 of the books on the list. Let me suggest :Go tell it on the Mountain,and the Fire Next Time  by James Baldwin. Also Ken Follet;s Eye of the Needle, Stephen Prestfield ; Gates of Fire and Eric Larson's" Devil in the White City". and last but not least Manchild in the Promise Land:"
