On the 4th, there will fireworks displays downtown at Centennial Park, just north of Buckhead at Lenox Square and at almost every one of the surrounding bedroom cities/communities, Marietta (must see the Square!), Smyrna, Dunwoody, Norcross, and Decatur. Stone Mountain mentioned above has a very strong Laser Show.

For seafood restaurants, try Bones, The Atlanta Fish Market, Rays on the River or Chops. For seafood, beer and Bohemian fun, try the Steamhouse Lounge. On the morning of the 4th is the Peachtree Road Race, a TenK race for over 50,000 of your closest friends. It starts in Buckhead at Lenox Square and ends in Piedmont Park down Peachtree. Most of the restaurants and bars along the way will open at about 7:00 am for spectators.

Dress for comfort, walking and hot weather. Enjoy your stay. Welcome!

Stone Mountain tram ride to the top and the evening laser show.  In the city... Georgia Aquarium, World of Coca Cola, and Fat Matt's Rib Shack.

A visit to Stone Mountain is a must.  Pitty Pat's Porch is a must for lunch or dinner.  Southern comfort food and a lounge that has rocking chairs!  If you really want a decadent meal (the price is high but worth every penny), try Nicolai's Roof on the 30th floor of the Hilton Hotel.  French-Russian cuisine.  They serve several courses but they are small so you will be able to taste it all.  One of my all-time favorites!

Atlanta Fish Market  and Chops Lobster Bar for seafood are both very good.  Atlanta Aquarium is a good adventure, Atlanta Botantical Gardens, The High Museum of Art, World of Coke, Centennial Olympic Park, Braves Baseball, Little Five Points if you like high energy, young people and rockin' night life, CNN Center, Atlanta History Center, Martin Luther King Historic Site, Jimmy Carter Library.

Hi,

Am traveling to Atlanta in 2 weeks and am wondering what are the must do's in 1 week.  Any great seafood resturants?  It will be over the 4 of July.
