I read the FAQs.  Did you ever have to pay to housesit (rent, utilities, etc.)?

Yes, this is an excellent way to save money traveling. You are responsible for the air fare to get yourself to the house/pet sit, but once you are there you get free accommodations in exchange for caring for the house and pet. In addition, since you have a kitchen, you can make many of your meals versus always having to go to restaurants which also saves a great deal of money.

The pet and homeowners who are looking for someone to care for their home can see the references of the pet sitters. Many of them, like us, have Police Checks done that we can also e-mail to the homeowners. We had a Police Check done by our local Police Department for $10.

How do you find out about these accommodations for pet sitting in other countries especially?

Do a search. Key in 'pet sitting accomodations Europe' and start reading through all the links you'll get.

Just think. The world was built by the lowest bidder.
