Re: Hartford insurance. Buyer beware.

I had the same thing happen to me and Hartford doubled my insurance premium. I cancelled and went back to my original insurance company (Mercury) and saved half! Will never use Hartford again. I left Mercury because I was offered such a great deal from Hartford but the premiums kept going up. I had Mercury for probably 20 years and never a problem. Live and learn!

Hartford insurance. Buyer beware.

I have been a customer for Hartford automobile insurance for 10 years. Back in 2014, I had a car accident and the other drivers insurance was Geico. Hartford went to arbitration and it was determined I was 100% not at fault. However, when my policy expired, Hartford increased my insurance by more than $600 for a year. They claimed it had nothing to do with the accident. This year, without any other incidents, they increased it another $200. They must consider me a risk with only one not at fault accident and no moving violations in 10 years. They can't drop you because your guaranteed for life so they will force you out by increasing your policy cost. It worked, I have left Hartford and now have GEICO for $800 less a year for same policy. Funny, the company that I had my accident against is $800 cheaper than Hartford. Buyer beware!
