Thanks for the uplift.    Hope to see you in the audience....    :-)

There are those who are perform and those who listen and appreciate.  I am in the second group : )

I listen to my radio at work every day all day long.  Turning on the radio is the first thing I do.  It keeps me sane and brings alot of new talent to my attention that I would probably not know otherwise.

As long as you keep music in your life, it will always be there and never question the amount of experience or dedication you give to the craft. Never give up and learn and play so you will grow into a comfortable and happy musician. Play on my friend!

The only song I could play on a guitar was the bass to  '25 or 6 to 4

by Chicago.  This was by no means a great feat.  Listen to the song

and follow the bass guitar and I have faith that anybody could do it.

But just playing the guitar does take a lot of talent.  I had to pass.....

My real love was the drums.  Had a very small band called  "White Horses"

I suppose it could have a blblical meaning,  but it was a mixture of things.

We only did a few gigs, but it was fun.  Hard times came and needed some

money.  I guese you know what happened to my drum set.

Someday I keep telling myself.  "Go for it again"...I just might wake up someday

(not to mention the neighborhood)  :-)   and start banging away.   With all

talent we have here, something tells me we have enough to start a band.

I belileve we could show the world what  'Oldies But Goodies' means today.

I think we could play some new stuff , say around the 80's  (lol again)

Being a part of a group, I learned to have great respect to all the musicians.

Play what you can play.  Sombody else will pick up on another instrument.

And so on.......

Thanks for listening

PEACE

We play at an open mic. my husband & guitar teacher run.   I do not play all the time, but sing sometimes.

Music is is such a wonderful gift & something that brings us together.  We follow the local music scene & have a lot of musician friends.

Music definetly keeps me young.  When a song comes on

with a good beat, all of a sudden I get happy feet.  Of course

that doesn't do me any good when I'm driving in my car.  I

still not enough room to move the feet.    (lol)

Music can help you remember the past and brings it to the present.

Music can help you also with your future.  When a song plays

on the radio and you like it, and you don't have it in your music

collection, that is a reminder to go to the store (or amazon) to

get a copy.. (Download is possible).........

Music is always in the heart, and it beats to keep us alive

and young................

Yes to all your points..  once a music lover it is usually for life : )

I think that is great that you and your husband are taking guitar lessons.  Do you ever perform?

Music can take us back to those special times in your life.   I agree with you, I am  enjoy music as much as I ever did : )

As you were saying about your dad, and how it took him back to the days with mom. music

is a time machine. (reverse only :-)  Of course it will bring you back to the present.  LOL

I still get a kick when a teenager will tell me all about 'Led Zeppelin'.  They have listened

to the music of their parents, and grandparents !!.  I smile and tell them that they have good

taste.  But if I mention Glen Miller.  opps,  I went to far back.  Their 'time machine' only

went back to the late 60's for them...   You can't win them all.  :-)

There are so many songs that I see when posted, that I have to go to YouTube and listen

to them again.  At that moment, music fills my soul and the rest of the world just stopped.

Of course, some one say's turn your computer down., and my memory got flushed down

the drain.  Oh well. There is still another post to read, and the music starts to play again

....and so on and so on....(What a circle)

Thanks for listening  (Sounds like a DJ getting ready to play the next hit (of the past))...

Isn't youtube great!!   Just about every song that we remember has one or sometimes zillions of memories that come along with them anytime we hear them play.  They bring back loved ones and special times and high school and all kinds of things... they are the sound track of our lives!!!
