Que Sera, Sera sung by Doris Day 1956. This song won the Academy Award for Best Original song from the Alfred Hitchcock  movie The Man Who Knew Too Much. A great song that was number one in the USA and in various years in the UK and Australia.

Nice job folks! Reading this brings back memories. In my opinion, the best of the best is a live performance of the song "Summertime" sung by Ella Fitzgerald in the height of her career along with the great Louis Armstrong. Oops, wrong one.Oops, wrong one. Here you go.Here you go.Done in 1959, the year I was born.

Steve Miller Band Fly like an Eagle

The Steve Miller Band Lyrics

Play "Fly Like An Eagle"
on Amazon Music

"Fly Like An Eagle"

Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin'
Into the future
Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin'
Into the future

I want to fly like an eagle
To the sea
Fly like an eagle
Let my spirit carry me
I want to fly like an eagle
Till I'm free
Oh, Lord, through the revolution

Feed the babies
Who don't have enough to eat
Shoe the children
With no shoes on their feet
House the people
Livin' in the street
Oh, oh, there's a solution

I want to fly like an eagle
To the sea
Fly like an eagle
Let my spirit carry me
I want to fly like an eagle
Till I'm free
Fly through the revolution

Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin'
Into the future
Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin'
Into the future
Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin'
Into the future
Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin'
Into the future

I want to fly like an eagle
To the sea
Fly like an eagle
Let my spirit carry me
I want to fly like an eagle
Till I'm free
Fly through the revolution

Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin'
Into the future
Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin'
Into the future

Good song. I remember back in 1979, when a friend and I saw him in Ft. Worth, Texas. After the concert, we drove around the back, trying to find a faster way out. Just as we were passing a back door, a short man with two gorgeous women, one on each arm came out.  We stopped, rolled down the window, and he came up and chatted with us for awhile. I don't remember much about that year, Smiley Wink but will never forget that night.  Hmmm. Am replying to KayKay5050's post re: Steve Miller Band Fly like an Eagle. Don't know why it showed up here, but KK, you get a thumbs up!

Old Friends...Simon & Garfunkel

Time it was and what a time it was

It was a time of innocence

A time of confidences

Long ago, it must be,

I have a photograph

Preserve your memories

They're all that's left you.

"Same Old Lang Syne" by Dan Fogelberg

Two former lovers bump into each other on the street before Christmas. The last verse is:
"Just for a moment I was back at school
And felt that old familiar pain
And, as I turned to make my way back home
The snow turned into rain"

As soon as I read the question my "mind" started humming the tune to "Summertime, Summertime" which was a hit by the Jamies back in 1958 and then returned to be a hit again in 1962.

The very first song that entered my mind - I play it for my 33 yr old daughter and her friends when they have "issues" with their age 🙂
