Are Gift Cards for Points Gone Forever

I was just wondering if we are ever going to see gift cards for ‘points only’ ever again?  I have seen so few over the last couple of months and am concerned that they are gone forever.

Finally!  $10 CVS GC available for points now!

It would be helpful if aarp give us some notice as to what and when points only rewards will be available that we would not have to spend time on checking their rewards catalog a few times a day.

We have Kelly who tries to keep up with posted rewards and alerts us.

But that isn't actually giving us advance notice when points only rewards will be available, it's just a different way of checking after the fact for when points only rewards have already been added to the catalog. You can either check the rewards catalog or check your email for notices from the community forum. Either way, if you don't check often enough, the rewards will probably be sold out before you can get them. But I guess if you have a smart phone with you most of the day and you get notices when you get new emails, that would be quicker than going to the website and checking it for new rewards. But it's a lousy rewards program that makes you do this to actually get these types of rewards.

If they posted when a card free for points was coming everyone would be here at the same time and be gone within 2 minutes and likely crash the server. Its annoying to check but that is the only way there is a chance to get one.Knowing in advance everyone would be waiting and pounce instantly. Then there would be all kinds of complaints of the site not working correctly. Its bad enough at the 1st of the month. This would be way worse.

Hi, you can find gift cards to purchase at a discounted price or redeem with your AARP Rewards points by heading to the Redeem page: https://www.aarp.org/rewards/?referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.aarp.org%2Frewards%2Fredeem&cmp=SNO-LITHIUM.... -Carla S.

Sigh! Reading comprehension is a great challenge for the members of the AARPConsumerCare, isn't it? I suggest ASAP a remedial course for your team; 8th grade level would be fine.

Most likely AI generated customer service when you get the canned reply type answers.

Notice how the replies seem to be unaware of the reality.   Probably offshore support staff following a script.  Wish support people would actually use the site so they would know what people are talking about.   For those looking to redeem points there are some great virtual greeting cards and coloring pages!  lol

the few that they have they will probably put on at the end of the month as they have done the last 2 months, you better get them as extra credit rewards, as last month you had to spend 28,ooo pts on a amazon gift card at the very end of the month

Super Contributor

Maybe they are just going to have the $5 extra-credit gift cards at the beginning of the month.

The program has gone south
