The topic title says "Journalists". Jounalists are NOT necessarily scholarly writers.  The best of them have such high regard for their audience that they avoid the superficial, distorted, inaccurate or misleading....often at their own expense.  The NPR staff is exemplary throughout...and Charlie Rose is the best of the lot now broadcasting.  He's getting old and has health issues.  Enjoy him while you can. I find it hard to believe there is enough time in a day to do all he is responsible for.

Not many people on TV.  At least not many who didn't come from a print background.

Bill Turque in DC (Washington Post).  He reports on a lot of issues I'm involved with and he reports them accurately.   Sadly, he's leaving DC.   Smiley Sad

David Farenthold (Washington Post).

Greg Jaffe (Washington Post).

I loved Gwen Ifill.   So sad to lose her.

Judy Woodruff

Most correspondents on NPR.

Erin Cunningham (Washington Post), Arwa Damon (CNN), Ayman Mohyeldin (MSNBC now), for coverage of the middle east.

Ivan Couronne, for the Agence France Presse.  He covers US political issues.

TV.   Andrea Mitchell, Christiana Armanpour, Martha Raddatz.

Opinion Journalism:   Paul Krugman, David Brooks,  Fareed Zakaria.

Sunday morning talk shows, I prefer Chuck Todd.

Commentary with humor - Jon Stewart and Cenk Uygur.

Thomas Friedman and Seymour Hersh come out with some very good articles.

Glenn Greenwald is very active. I often like to check out what he is reporting.

I like hearing what David Brooks has to say. He seems very honest in his opinions.

Megyn Kelley gives some good interviews.

I once read a very good book by Arianna Huffington - "Pigs at the Trough".

When I'm in the mood for a deep thinker - Norm Chomsky.

There are others, I'm sure, but the above list just comes to mind.

Who are your Most Respected/Credible Journalists?

I listen to a lot of news and I read a lot of articles from Journalists.............................for me it's important the person is intelligent - informed on the Major Issues and not some member of the Alt Left/Right Extremism - they also have to be able to explain the issues on a level I can understand - there are plenty of Political/Policy Savants who are extremely Intelligent but I can't keep up

Talking TV/Radio Heads - Chris Hayes - MSNBC ...............David Gergen - CNN

Newspapers/Magazines - Thomas Friedman - Glenn Greenwald

All Around - Christiane Amanpour - David Engel - Carl Bernstein - Doris Kears Goodwin
