I can see the Trump Conservatives salivating all over this. No free trade. No foreign ownership.  Maybe they could build a wall down there and have their president wear an orange wig and marry am ex adult photoshoot model?

nctarheel--Today, with his extremely limited vocabulary, Trump declared that Canada was "horrible," and "terrible" when discussing the steel trade, which, said little donnie should all be made in America.

As I was listening to him and his five word vocabulary, i thought of two things.

1.  Idiot is now alienating yet another country

                    AND

2.  This man is without doubt the biggest hypocrite on the face of the planet.

I guess you could say he's "horrible," and "terrrible."

Gee, I miss having a real President!!

This story is at least worth keeping an eye on.

Other U.S. corporations will be keeping an eye on this to see what developes.

It's not the first time in U.S. history this has happened.

Will the CIA be called on once again to "remedy the situation"? I hope not.

If this takes hold, it could spread to other countries.

Is this why CITGO (Venezuelan National Oil Company) gave $500,000 to the Trump Inauguration Committee?

I know you asked @jimc91 this question but I believe the point was to show that for 70 years GM had operated a manufacturing plant in Venezuela, having as many as 2,700 workers, and 79 dealers.

That is, until DUFUS TRUMP became President of the United States.

And now we have this.

TRUMP is affecting not just the United States, but the WORLD.... and not in a good way.

GM's Venezuela plant, assets seized by authorities

By Andrew V. Pestano Follow @AVPLive9Contact the Author  |   April 20, 2017 at 7:05 AM

April 20 (UPI) -- General Motors said it has ceased all operations in Venezuela after authorities unexpectedly seized its plant in the city of Valencia.

A court in the Zulia state said it imposed a broad embargo on the assets of General Motors Venezolana, C.A., or GMV, which has been in operation for nearly seven decades. GMV said authorities seized its plant Wednesday afternoon and that its associated bank accounts likely are also out of its control, meaning the company cannot make payments, such as employee wages.

GMV called the act "improper, absurd, outside of legal logic and due process."

"GMV is taking all legal measures within its reach in order to protect the rights of its workers and their property," the company said in a statement.

The company called on workers, suppliers, dealers and external operators to refrain from reporting to work at the plant or other jobs until the court ruling is reversed
