Seriously, there ARE those in the midst of white native born Americans who ARE the problem.

White native born Americans using firearms have committed the vast majority of mass murders in this nation since the year 2002.

White native born Americans who desire to possess and bear firearms must be much more closely examined by psychiatrists to identify those white native born Americans who pose a "real and present danger to the citizens of this nation" - they must be kept from being able to acquire/possess firearms - their mental illnesses that cause them to be so dangerous must be treated - or they must remain locked up like Charles Manson.

Easy peasy - obvious and plain as the nose on everyone's face - those white native born domestic mass murderers/domestic terrorists must be identified...

We need to weed out the white native born cray cray...

Is it settled forever?

Nope it's not.

Nothing is forever.

Change is the only constant.

Our galaxy and the Andromeda galaxy are on a course that will result in all kinds of collisions - none of which have been foreseen, mentioned in prophecy or anything of that sort in ANY writings of unverified veracity and uncertain provenance...

There are many times more American Citizens who would never consider becoming a member of the Nutcase Rifle A-wipes than the A-wipes have members...

Could the US follow Australia on a path that has irrefutably worked well and been very very successful?

What Australia has - works - what we have - doesn't work - it adversely affects "life liberty and the pursuit of happiness" - making what we have  - unquestionably a failure.

Speaking of unquestionable failures...

trump is a complete and utter failure as president - a comprehensive impartial psychiatric examination of our mentally unstable Nutcase-in-Chief is definitely indicated - so he can no longer be a threat to the continuing existence of humanity...

So - what has life, the universe, and everything always really been all about?

@ Chas

You're are stuck in trench too, firing worthless politically inspired salvos, only to have another barrage of political 2nd amendment law shot back. You argue a point only to make a point.

Why not actually do something that will constitute saving lives?

Assault weapons don't have to be black or look scary.

Reducing the number of rounds allowed in a magazine will save lives, sorry you can't understand that.

assault.  1. a violent attack:  onslaught.  2.  Mil.  the stage of close combat in an attack.  3.  Law.  an unlawful physical attack upon another;  an offer to do violence to another, with or without battery, as by holding a stone or club in a threatening manner.  4.  rape.  5.  to make an assault upon;  to attack, assail.

Now that you've all determined what an 'assault rifle' really, really is.  Try Webster's on for fit.

See....?  You use it that way, that's what it is.  Surely, there is a rational way to resolve all this in the Public's best interest.  That is what organizing into this society purports to be about or have I missed something?

Universal Background checks are a good thing and they don't stop gun owners like me from purchasing a handgun. Why are so many right wingers opposed to universal background checks?

Jim said, "We don't but it does not focus on the root cause"

I disagree. I think Unversal Background checks can prevent mentally ill, convicted felons, and other nutcases from buying weapons. If that stops only 1,2, or 3 mass shootings, it makes the law worthwhile.

And if right wingers aren't opposed to universal background checks, please explain why they keep voting against it.
