Re: Charlottesville spurs opposite move in Lexington

There were both spontaneous and planned protests across the nation.   Here in San Antonio, the alt-right showed up with confederate flags and long guns.    Only one of their ilk was arrested, no one else was.    The stand-off lasted about 5 hours in downtown park.

LosAngeles had spontaneous action in downtown protesting the violence of the Alt-Right / Neo Nazis and KKK - no arrests.

Police just had a learning moment.

Sounds like Lexington may be moving some statues sooner than originally talked about...

One of the statues is of John Cabell Breckinridge who has lots of history - youngest ever Vice President - only Vice President to ever take up arms against the United States - only member of Congress to be expelled for treason - gold camp in Colorado - now a famous ski resort town - changed it's name from Breckinridge to Breckenridge in response when he joined the confederacy...

The other statue is of John Hunt Morgan - whose famous raid prompted a number of decades later schools in the region to call thenselves the "raiders"...  John Hunt Morgan - Wikipedia

That's great to hear, A.P.  Thanks for posting this link.  The scum that these Alt-Right/KKK/White Nationalists, deserve their rightful place in Hell.

Charlottesville spurs opposite move in Lexington

Kentucky mayor responds to Charlottesville by doing exactly what white nationalists don’t want - Vox

Looks like the white "nationalists'" deliberate violence resulting in three deaths may have been the major motivating factor resulting in Lexington doing exactly what the white "nationalists" don't want - statues and memorials moved.

Looks like richly deserved result of causing three deaths to any decent and honorable American Citizen...

The Governor of Virginia made the following statement -

"I have a message to the white supremacists and the Nazis who came into Charlottesville today,  Go home.

You are not wanted in this great commonwealth.

You pretend that you are patriots, but you are anything but patriots.

You came here today to hurt people.

There is no place for you here, there is no place for you in America.

So please, go home and never come back, Take your hatred, and take your bigotry, there is no place..."

The Mayor of Charlottesville called them "outsiders"  who "belong on the trash heap of history."

It's obvious both of them have the kind of "balls" that trump probably never has had.
