Here is one of your "victims" (your word). It is a shame the police didn't shoot sooner or straighter so they weren't injured.

Ah but it was Texas, wasn't it so.......

Sadly , one cohort here doesn't give a hoot about the mentally ill.    They look at them as a profit center - where they are jailed / fined / released / jail / fined / release.     Great for the Private Jail / Prison bottom line.    That is all thanks to Reagan.

411 people killed so far in 2017, by law enforcement.  The results demonstrate one in five victims suffered from mental illness.  Sounds like an untreated, or poorly treated societal problem.

411 Americans Killed By Law Enforcement So-far in 2017 - 20% were mentally ill

It's amazing to me how often Conservatives distort what others say/post and make wild assumptions about others.  They're usually wrong.

If you haven't noticed ........... it's most often all that they have.

Your point is what - that those 641 lives in Chicago are not relevant because they were not shot by the police?

Really?  That's how you interpreted the comment?

A 'selective' interpretation !

Gun Toters once again try the big :  DISTRACTION game...and lose.

If they are really interested in the number of gun related shooting, then zippy, report all the gun shooting.   It will indicate that shooting increase with the number of "I love NRA" loons who have lowered the standards for gun toting.      More guns = more shootings.

Police killings continue to rise and the number represented here is an increase for previous years...but gun toter's and their resident stupid seem not to care that many people are dying needlessly because of police being out of control and legislators are more than willing to ignore those deaths because of $$$ from NRA.

We've now surpassed 250 police killings in the US so far this year and our on pace to exceed 1,000.

I find The Washington Post database to be very helpful, but another forum memebr has sent this database to me and it's rather user friendly as well.  Thank you.

You present objective data and then blantely failed to analyze the data, in numeric terms, associated with your criticism. Your subjective analysis is at best ... only an idea from a clear bias against law enforcement and doesn't even stand the plausible theory test.

I would also add that in Chicago .... 2017 stats show 3 police shooting deaths and 3 wounded while 70 are murdered where lawlessness runs rampant.

So what's the real problemS? is it "just" law enforcement? Sounds like something Al Sharpton would post.

Did you look at the data in the link? If you did, do you think that all should have been shot and killed? Sorry, but my bet is that you didn't look as all of the data provided in the link.

It appears Conservatives prefer to ignore it, Chas.  We are now up to 219 so far this year.
