First day back from Milwaukee and the Wisconsin State Fair.

Some of the highlights of the fair.

The WonderWheel is rolled into State Fair ... not literally.

Call it the 'Stallis Eye.

State Fair announced today that the continent's largest traveling Ferris wheel will be a part of the 2017 State Fair, which runs Aug. 3-13. It'll be the first time the WonderWheel has spun in Wisconsin.

While admittedly it's no Vegas High Roller (550 feet) or even London Eye (443 feet), the WonderWheel is a pretty-impressive 155 feet tall, which is especially notable when you consider that this wheel takes to the road on a regular basis.

It's about the same size as Deno's Wonder Wheel at Coney Island and the Navy Pier Ferris wheel in Chicago.

Fair-goers are able to ride in one of the 36 completely enclosed, brightly colored, six-person gondolas for $5. On a clear day it's estimated that riders will be able to see 10 miles or more. That's almost to Shorewood, Franklin, St. Francis and Butler, give or take a mile or so.

This long respite from
summer invigorated
human inhab’tants.

But that’s not sole plus:
the grapes are reflowering.
Who woulda thunked?

Weekend takes step back
toward summer-esque weather:
sun, 80s, some storms.

A couple of very wet days around here in MN. It's cool here now too. Very unusual for Aug.

Oh, and the Vikings just got a second touchdown Yeah Vikings!

Soaked hill: wet birds.
Kingbirds dive for bugs, come up
shake off rainwater.

Bees, too, are troubled
by extra wetness they find.
More rain expected.

Hummers flit from fleur
to rainsoaked drooping fleur.
Extra work to eat.

@DaveMcK, The fair sounds like fun and that cream puff looks sinful! Cat LOL

It rained all day yesterday and that led to me having to let some water out of the pool.  There was a lot of flooding in areas around me, but once again my area seemed to have missed that.

We didn't get out of the 60's yesterday. Clouds and sun today, but all in all, a few days without AC is a $$$ bonus on the electric bill.

71 now and may not even get to 80. Not good for swimming, but I'm sure it will warm up again.

Hope everyone is having a good week. N.

Slow day here today. Was a nice day for golf yesterday with good round again. Tomorrow will be a very busy day but fun day. We are off to Milwaukee for the Wisconsin State fair.

The iconic Original Cream Puff, sold at the Fair since 1924, is the most popular food item among Fairgoers – an average of 350,000 are consumed each year! The delicious cream-filled pastries can be enjoyed individually or in three- or six-packs. The Wisconsin Bakers Association operates the Cream Puff Bakery in the Original Cream Puff Pavilion, two additional conveniently located vending locations in the Fair Park.

Geez, temps in the 60's today. You leave to go northcountry for a couple of days, return after torrential rains to tree (small elm) down and I may have lost grass battle in side yard.

Think I may need goats there and new gas for tree cutting.

Oh well fire wood or kindling making today.

had meant to thin out that cluster, half the work has been done🙄.

Froze

75 and
a heavy thunderstorm late
perfect day ahead.

Get out; get it done:
get back in: make spot of tea
watch the clouds roll by.

@JoyaDe Thank you! Smiley Happy We had a total blast: Nebraska's course was unbelieveably fast and we rode better than ever, averaging 20 miles an hour over the 4 races (47 miles total), During training we were lucky to average 18.8MPH, so our race results shocked us, frankly. BTW, read about your dog and bunny show. LOL. Animals are such fun. Smiley Wink
