Hi community,

Tammy here! New user here but want to see if anyone is experiencing the same thing here.

My husband bought some bitcoin last year just for giggles and it has done well this year (unbelievably), but I want to ask if I will get taxed if we sell the Bitcoin for money? I've been getting conflicting advice as some just said it's not a currency. However, others have said that it falls as investment. Another sounce says that you can exchange Bitcoin for actual gift cards (http://whatisbitcoinusedfor.com/which-online-retailers-accept-bitcoin-in-2017 and since it's not money it won't be taxed as such.

Does any know? Thanks in advance!
